Prologue
An Intro About Intros
I've been playing around with the intro for episodes of my podcast, Build a Big Podcast. I'm going straight into a story now, before even announcing the name of the show or the episode topic.
Of course, I have a two-second tag at the very front, so recurring listeners know what they're listening to ...
So I've been thinking about podcast intros lately ... and I'm looking for "good intro" examples to use in my upcoming book.
Can you help?
I'm looking for examples that:
- grab listener attention
- make a listener want to keep listening
- explain the show and/or episode in a concise and compelling way

What Abraham Lincoln Knew About Good Podcast Content
Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address is arguably one of the top speeches of all time. And storytelling expert Shawn Callahan explains why it works ...
The four-part structure:
- Begin with a look back at the past to take the listener back to the way things used to be.
- A shift to something that happened: the events that caused a problem or opportunity.
- This is what Callahan calls "so now . . ." which describes the decision or action needed to respond.
- A look ahead to the future and envisioning of a desired outcome.
it's a simple format that you can use for both monologue podcasts and a framework for the interviews you do.

Turn Your Voice into Social Media Posts (and More)
Letterly is a mobile app that takes your "voice notes" and organizes them into outlines, social media posts, and more.
The idea behind Letterly is very simple: you just speak into it and get the text you need.
This isn't just another AI-generated text: linguists worked to train the model so that the texts would be perfect.
You can even preserve the tone of your voice, making it sound like you wrote it yourself.
This is a great tool for podcasters! And right now, you get lifetime access for only $59.
