Prologue
Audio vs. Video
A well-known podcasting expert recently moved to YouTube, saying that the growth of podcasting has peaked.
This isn't true.
There are millions of people who either prefer audio-first content or are in daily situations, such as driving a car, where audio-only content is the only entertainment option, and there is plenty of growth available to you. Don't get sucked into the "video is better" hype.
Video is great, but audio-first content isn't going anywhere.
Need help making the most of your audio-first content? Check out Big Podcast AMP.

How to Read More Books ... A Lesson for Podcasters
This is a great example of telling people HOW to consume what you produce.
Somebody making one of these for podcasting would get a million views on YouTube.
TL;DR: Show people exactly what you want them to do. For example, if you want more people to subscribe to your podcast, make a video that shows them the process of doing that. Same thing if you want more reviews.

Betty White vs. Bea Arthur - A Lesson for Podcasters
A producer for The Golden Girls has confirmed that Betty White and Bea Arthur hated each other and had an ongoing feud.
Working with someone you can't stand, especially on something as intimate as a podcast, can be tough.
But it’s not impossible.
The key is to focus on the project’s goals rather than your personal differences. Set clear boundaries, communicate openly about roles and expectations, and keep conversations professional.
If you’re both passionate about the show’s success, that shared drive can often override your mutual annoyance.
Differences can be creative fuel. Sometimes a little friction leads to better debates, sharper content, and more authentic moments that listeners love.
Could you make a podcast with somebody you can't stand? Do you? I want to hear the story.
Podcasting News
If you want to be President ...
Gov. Gavin Newsom has a podcast.
He says he doing to bring on "people I disagree with, as well as those I look up to.”
The first clip was one Newsom introducing Charlie Kirk, saying that his 13-year-old son wanted to stay home from school to meet him.
The response from Kirk ... “You canceled school for like two years, what’s one more day!?”
That's a nice soundbite. Will yet another talking-head podcast with two middle-aged white guys sharing their feelings have staying power?
We'll see.
Still, a podcast is a way to get your message out without the traditional "big media" filter and it might be just the thing to keep Gavin Newsom in front of people.

How Often Should You Publish Your Podcast?
Questions creative people think about:
- How many movies should you star in next year?
- How many records should you release?
- How many songs should you write?
- How many times a week should you post to your blog?
- When should my next book be?
Seth Godin says, "A lot of the stuff marketers make is unanticipated, impersonal, irrelevant junk that consumers merely tolerate."
I agree.
Perhaps the real question isn't anything to do with frequency, but "How can I make something that matters?"
Podcast Humor
"What Do You Think of My Podcast?"
It's common for podcasters to ask people for an opinion. But what most are looking for isn't an opinion, but some version of, "Your podcast is great! I wouldn't change a thing!"
It's normal to want validation. It's normal to crave reassurance that your hard work is hitting the mark.
Own it.
This isn’t unique to podcasting, by the way. It’s human nature to seek approval, especially when you’ve invested time and passion into something.
But if you only chase applause, you’ll miss out on the honest insights that can actually make your podcast better. Real growth comes from listening to what’s said when you ask for an opinion, not just the parts you want to hear.
